You are a very intuitive person, Daniel and I have a lot of respect for your work.
But as a thought experiment, why not try taking a month and try on a different framing as a test and see if that also explains what you see. Because if it does, that is a less divisive and more productive way of looking at the world.
The vast majority of Republicans I've talked to have little concern about skin color. I'm sure there are some somewhere, but as a Californian, I've never met one in person that cares about it. What they seem to care about are cultural values such as hard work, meritocracy, obedience to just laws, equal treatment, ingenuity, entrepreneurism.
Does your current framing actually explain why Republicans have had genuine love for people with black skin such as Clarence Thomas, Larry Elder, Thomas Sowell, Candace Owens, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Herman Cain, Ben Carson, Diamond & Silk, The Hodgetwins, Kanye (Jesus is King era), etc. The common denominator in all these people is that they respect the same cultural values that Republicans do.
Maybe you have an explanation. Often two framings do work. But if one is more useful to social cohesiveness at large and doesn't require you to assume the bad faith of half of America, why not use the other framing? I know, at heart, you don't want to help tear our society apart.
I am so confused. Is he supposed to be lying that he thinks it's tragic? And how does that mean white people as second class citizens? All I'm really getting from this is that you're mocking a fox news talking head, but I can't tell what for.
