Pete Hegseth - the buffoonish “Secretary of War” (new title smhlol) - delivered what amounts to the same old nonsense normally released in a TikTok video or Twitter post. Those Generals must be furious - the looks on their faces in the photos say it all 😆 - with some having to take very, very, long flights to get there from Asia, only to be lectured on petty culture war crap. Hegseth insisted the US Military and it’s “warriors” (he’s got a thing for that word, along with “Lethality” - weird) “Be feared and taken seriously”, yet in an act of metaphorical self-immolation he achieved the exact opposite: he made them appear ridiculous, cartoonish. His new title should have one more word added : Secretary of CULTURE War.

The problem is what Congress, who can remove him is incredibly polarized, and feckless. They are so afraid of stepping out of line on their side that they do nothing.

This is the real problem with political parties. People become loyal to "their side" rather than the country as a whole.

While a much smaller threat, we saw this last year with Biden and Harris. No one would state the obvious - he was senile, and she was a horrible candidate, race and sex aside.

There are exceptions of course, strong leaders who will speak out against their own party, but they few and far between.

This blindness is why you feel like you are screaming fire and no one is listening. Because if you're a Democrat you KNOW that Republicane are lying and full of shit, and vice versa.

No one is listening anymore, except to the "good guys" on their own side.

It's a form of bigotry, no different than racism, for example. You KNOW all White people are racist, or that Black people are all criminals, depending on your ideology. You don't need to think about it. It's so obvious that one never thinks to question these things.

The label matters more than the actions of the individual. And you aren't going to get people to listen until you stay listening to people and engage in a real dialogue.

And so your cartoons are basically preaching to the choir. How are you going to change that?
